With the acceleration of urbanization in China,the problems of arable land loss and ecological destruction are becoming more and more serious during the process of urbanization.Urban Growth Boundary(UGB)is a spatial management tool,which can reasonably guide urban development,and control the disorderly expansion of cities and realize the intensive urban land use.Urban landscape pattern changes in the process of urban development.The landscape pattern can reflect the spatial characteristics of urban form.The landscape index can quantitatively describe the landscape pattern and reflect the growth pattern of the city.By spatializing the landscape index and introducing it to the delineation of Urban Growth Boundary,a more scientific UGB spatial analysis model can be established to provide suggestions for urban planning.This paper proposes a new method based on the landscape index to delineate Urban Growth Boundary by combing the domestic and international UGB related basic theories.The main research content has 4 aspects.First,the CA-Markov model is built on the IDRISI platform,and the Comprehensive Landscape Index is introduced to construct the UGB spatial model.Second,Class Index and Landscape Index were selected to analyze the landscape changes of Jinan with the method of Principal Component Analysis,Analysis Cluster and Correlation Analysis.Third,Logistic Regression Analysis and Correlation Analysis were carried out on Patch scale index,and the Comprehensive Landscape Index was obtained for the Urban Growth Boundary demarcation.Finally,take Jinan as an example to analyze the landscape indicators and verify the model.The research results show that:(1)The UGB spatial model based on the Comprehensive Landscape Index points out a new direction for the delineation of Urban Growth Boundaries.(2)Six indicators of Class scale,namely Number of Patches(NP),Patch Area Mean(AREA_MN),Edge Density(ED),Aggregation Index(AI),Largest Patch Index(LPI),Connectance Index(CONNECT),and 5 indicators on Landscape scale,namely Interspersion Juxtaposition Index(IJI),Patch Cohesion Index(COHESION),Shannon's Diversity Index(SHDI),Contagion Index(CONTAG)and Perimeter Area Fractal Dimension(PAFRAC)can reflect the characteristics of regional landscape.(3)A regression model can be established by using Patch scale index through Logistic Regression Analysis and Correlation Analysis,which can calculate a Comprehensive Landscape Index.The Comprehensive Landscape Index need to be spatialized,and then be introduced to the process of delineating UGB as an impact factor.(4)UGB demarcation method based on the landscape index has higher precision.The overall accuracy increased from 90.37% to 93.21%,and the Kappa coefficient increased from 0.84 to 0.89 after introducing the Landscape Comprehensive Index,The demarcation results of the urban growth boundary of Jinan downtown area are highly consistent with the planning development.
