Motivated by tough competition of domestic car market,the integrated quality of vehicles is highly desirable for mass consumers,which needs higher demand for automotive dashboard.As the largest and most complicated parts in automotive trim,the automotive instrument panels not only load versatile instruments,but also greatly affect the automotive decoration,which is served as an important evaluation criteria for a car.In the overall structure of automotive dashboard,reasonable surface skin materials and surface pattern design have drawn extensive attentions.The silicone model with honing mold is the core component of instrument panel epidermal molding technology,which is closely related to the clarity degree of mold surface pattern.Therefore,better preparation process plays an important role in optimizing the epidermal quality.In this paper,our core content is devoted to exploring the role of PVC skin components toward solidification of silicone rubber.Concretely speaking,when silicone is poured on some PVC skins,the silicone gel that comes into contact with the face takes a long time.Then the slow curing rate,small energy storage modulus G and less cross-linking points is reduced,which always arouses the poisoning of platinum catalyst in silicone and incomplete solidification of silicone rubber.The PVC skins were analyzed via a class of characterization techniques such as infrared spectroscopy,nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy,inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry,inductively coupled plasma spectrometry.The experimental data demonstrate that,the adopted PVC skin in the experiment process does not contain unsaturated functional groups such as vinyl and alkynyl groups,while the P element with unsaturated state in the PVC skin directly leads to the catalyst poisoning.The effect of unsaturated P element content for solidification of silicone rubber was further revealed.The results showed that every 3.6×10-7 mol of unsaturated P element was in contact with 7.12×10-11 mol of platinum element,then the unsaturated P element orbital shared electron pair binds to the platinum element and undergoes an irreversible reaction,resulting in poisoning of the platinum catalyst.Moreover,we further tune the content of platinum catalyst and hydrogen-containing silicone oil to address the incomplete solidification of silicone rubber and poisoning of platinum catalyst.The results show that,when 0%-0.3%hydrogen-containing silicone oil or 0%-0.4%platinum catalyst was added to DY silicone rubber,the cross-linking curing rate of silicone rubber is accelerated,but the platinum catalyst poisoning problem cannot be solved.So the silicone rubber on the PVC skin is still not be completely Solidified,then greatly hindering the formation of a stable pattern;adding 0.5%-1.0%platinum catalyst to silicone rubber or adding0.4%platinum catalyst and 0.2%hydrogen-containing silicone oil can efficiently solve poisoning of platinum catalyst,then stimulating the solidification of silicone rubber on the PVC skin.
