| Traditional villages carry rich material and intangible cultural heritage and are the treasures of the Chinese nation.However,in the rapidly changing urban-rural relationship and the evolving urbanization and modernization process,traditional villages are dying at an unimaginable rate.At the same time,in the huge impact of capital to the countryside,fragile traditional villages inevitably face many problems such as environmental bearing crisis and the disintegration of traditional rural social networks.What is more serious is that in the profit-seeking of capital,only the material and culture with the value of consumption are carefully dressed or created out of nothing,while other meaningful rural features are gradually damaged,neglected,and even buried.The rurality will in a crisis of extinction.As the essential attribute of the village,the preservation of the village is crucial to the sustainable development of the traditional village.Therefore,the rural research of the traditional village should become one of the important topics of the traditional villages in China.As the essential attribute of the villages,the preservation of the rurality is crucial to the sustainable development of the traditional villages in China.Therefore,the rurality research of the traditional villages should become one of the important topics in China.This paper takes Suzhou as the research scope which has high degree of geographical concentration and good protection development of traditional villages.The classification and evaluation of rurality of traditional villages are studied to explore the sustainability of the conservation and development of traditional villages in Suzhou and the impact of different types of development on rurality retention.(1)First,analyze the characteristics of traditional villages in Suzhou and related classification methods.Using the qualitative classification method of individual function differences,combined with questionnaires,data analysis and other auxiliary quantitative analysis methods to identify different development types of traditional villages and classify them into four categories,including tourism development type,traditional skill type,life service type and comprehensive development type.(2)Second,based on the relevant domestic and foreign research experience,the characteristics of the traditional villages in China and the theory of “post-country community society”,this paper constructs a rurality evaluation index system of traditional villages which consists six indicator layers and sixteen factor layers.The extreme value method,the combination weighting method and linear weighting method are used to calculate the result.(3)Last,through investigation and numerical analysis,it is found that the rurality of traditional villages in Suzhou have a good overall level and show cascade differentiation in different types.Among them,The traditional skill type has high degree in rurality and strong in balance,showing the overall activation of the rurality driven by industry;The tourism development type is high in rurality but low in its balance.The rurality in these type is polarized because of the One-sided stimulation of tourism development;The degree of rurality and its balanced nature in life service type are at the lowest level,reflecting the overall decline of rurality in urban-rural interactions;The rurality level of the comprehensive development type is central,although the balance is the strongest but does not have the vitality or mechanism of sustainable development,which is manifested as the passive maintenance of rurality in self-exploration.Through the above research,this paper proposes suggestions for the continuation of rurality in the four types of traditional villages in Suzhou to promote their sustainable protection and development.Among them,the traditional skill type villages should activate the overall vitality in rurality by the unique craftsmanship;Tourism development type villages need to focus on the overall development and innovation,life service type villages should focus on creating a cohesive and diverse residence,and the comprehensive development type villages need to accurately locate and expand the open path and form.The protection and development of traditional villages should not be rushed to the top,nor should they be self-defeating.It should be guided by the overall improvement of the rurality level and the balanced development of various constituent elements.By choosing appropriate development path and seek a balance in the change,the vitality and sustainability of the protection and development of traditional villages can be ensured in the present and the future,and the realization of rural revitalization and cultural self-confidence can be better promoted. |
