Research On The Construction Mode Innovation Of Addis Ababa-D Jibouti Railway

As "the Belt and Road Initiative" and "Going Global" strategy proposed by Chinese Government,Chinese enterprises have undertaken a number of overseas railway projects.Especially along with the cooperation between China and Africa,the current railway construction mode such as EPC,F+EPC,and other derived ones have bottlenecks.Sometimes they have even blocked the development of the railway projects overseas.Considering the above situation,we concluded that the current modes cannot meet the requirements of mutual benefit and win-win for China and Africa in the implementation of projects.That said,the overseas railway construction mode needs to be innovated in Africa.However,the current research on innovation of railway construction mode are both insufficient domestically and overseas.Therefore,the purpose of this case type thesis is to analyze the innovation of construction mode from different perspectives including transport economics and externalities of transport so as to prove the Integrated Development of the Whole Industry Chain Mode and The Railway construction and operation+TOD Mode are applicable to Africa countries.In Part 2,the thesis analyzes the existing railway construction mode and 4 typical types are demonstrated.In Part 3,the thesis summarized the mode of Financing,Commercial as well as Operation&Management in the process of HSR construction.In the mean time,the thesis focuses on the features of Africa market and its development trend as a proof for the case analysis of Addis-Ababa Djibouti Railway Construction Mode in Part 4&5.In Part 4,the thesis breakdown the background of Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway project and the contract signing,as well as the detailed introduction of the current situation of this railway.In Part 5,the thesis focuses on the case of Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway with a thorough analysis on its construction mode of F+EPC+O&M.The analysis are processed based on 3 dimensions with the theory of transport economics including trade cost and externalities.Finally the thesis analyze the case railway and Tanzania-Zambia railway with a comparative study.The main research results of this thesis demonstrate the mode of "Integrated Development of the Whole industry Chain" and "Railway construction and operation+TOD comprehensive development" are applicable to the Railway Construction development of Africa countries.
