With the rapid development of the manufacturing industry,the continuous growth personalized demand for products and the upgrading of products of the market,the traditional mass production method can no longer meet the market demand.A new type of production method with multiple varieties and small batches came into being,which led to a new production management model named lean production.SEMD is one of the core management concepts of lean production.This thesis analyzed the application status of SMED at home and abroad,finding that SMED is an effective way to improve the production capacity of enterprises and respond to the demand quickly.Based on the study and analysis of relevant methods and theories,this thesis applied SMED to H company.With the changing mold process of H company's injection molding machine as the research object,the time waste problem in the process of changing the mold is analyzed and the SMED is used to reduce the equipment downtime.First,the current change operation content and time were recorded in the work record table,then the internal and external operations were separated with the "5W1H" analysis questioning method and"ECRS" principle.In the process of compressing the internal working time,three aspects were optimized:staff configuration optimization to improve serial operation,Taguchi experimental design method to improve the adjustment parameters process and process capability analysis to improve the first production inspection process.In the compression of external work time,to improve the serial operation the double joint operation analysis method was used.At the same time,the thesis proposed optimization suggestions for the use of tools such as driving positioning,backup mold carrying platform and quick-connect socket.Finally,the thesis evaluated the effectiveness of the improved program.The research of the thesis can effectively reduce the time waste,then improve the utilization rate of injection molding machine equipment,and increase production capacity and enhance the competitiveness of the company.The research process of this thesis can accelerate the promotion of SMED method in the injection molding industry.The research ideas of from the whole to the part of this thesis can also be used as reference for other enterprises to apply SMED to solve the problem of low production capacity.
