With the rapid development of motorization, the network density of expressways in big cities is getting higher and higher. With the continuous development of urban expressways, the number of interchanges is increasing, and the spacing of expressway interchanges is decreasing.Traffic congestion and potential traffic safety hazards often appear in the impact area of small spacing continuous interchange. If the sign setting of continuous interchange is unreasonable, this not only does not play the role of guiding the driver, but also increases driver's load, causes improper operation, accelerating and decelerating frequently, disorder traffic flow, and even cause traffic accidents. This paper relies on the content of National Natural Science Foundation of China "Study on Traffic Flow Self-organization Mechanism and Associate Design Parameters Optimization of Short-distance Interchanges on Expressway"(No.51878236).The main research contents are as follows: Driving simulation scenarios are designed with intersection spacing, settings of advanced guide signs and diverge and merge forms as experimental influence factors.Classical continuous interchange scenarios wre established by driving simulator.Qualified drivers were recruited in society to conduct driving simulation experiments.Driver's driving behavior data, eye movement data and ECG data were obtained through experiments.Driver's driving behavior in continuous interchange environment is analyzed by descriptive statistics, variance analysis, multiple comparison test,T test, partial correlation analysis and other methods. The driving behavior characteristics in associated influence areas under different interchange spacing wre mainly explored. In addition, the driving behavior characteristics mechanism of interchange advanced guide signs with different pre-distance was explored. On this basis, the effectiveness of different advanced guide signs setting for continuous interchanges is constructed based on Grey Near-optimal Comprehensive Evaluation Method.Furthermore, the setting method of advanced guide signs based on different interchange spacing was put forward. The driving behavior in different interchange spacing was studied. The results showed that,in small spacing interchange, speed was significantly lower and acceleration was significantly higher;the efficiency of gas pedal and brake pedal was lower;driver's pupil diameter was significantly larger and the fixation duration was significantly smaller. The results of driving behavior analysis in different advanced guide signs setting showed that, without advanced guide signs, driver's speed was significantly smaller and the speed fluctuation was large;the driving distance was long and the fluctuation was large during lane change;there were significant differences in driving parameters, vehicle handling behavior,ECG parameters and eye movement parameters in different advanced guide signs pre-distance.The results of Grey Near-optimal Comprehensive Evaluation showed that, based on the setting standard of interchange spacing in China,no advanced guide signs and 500 m advanced guide signs scored lowest;in the case of ramp-diversion and main-diversion,300 m and 200 m advanced guide signs were the most effective respectively;200m advanced guide sign in medium-distance interchange was more effective;300m advanced guide sign setting was more effective in large spacing interchange; The overall level of utility of 400 m advanced guide signs on interchanges was the highest.
