Experimental Study On Visual Experience Of Four Kinds Of Landscape Techniques In Suzhou Literati Gardens

Suzhou literati garden,as a treasure of Chinese classical art,has always been the focus of Chinese traditional architecture research.In recent years,more and more attention has been paid to Chinese traditional garden techniques in contemporary architectural design.In the research on landscape design techniques,many predecessors have obtained a lot of research results by means of theoretical and practical analysis,but few have analyzed landscape design techniques from the perspective of subjective perception.Therefore,this paper hopes to explore the perception rules of landscape architecture from the perspective of subjective visual behavior perception with the help of experimental research methods.By using behavioral information collection and eye movement experiment,Four Suzhou garden design techniques which are zigzag,hide and expose,framing and add depth of scenery has carried on the experimental study.We analysis the visual experience of people in the real scene,and its spatial experience mode,and tries to explore the feasibility and applicability of the experimental research with the design method as the research object.Based on the analysis and interpretation of the characteristics of various landscaping techniques,combined with the feasibility of experimental research on visual behavior,four landscaping techniques including zigzag,hide and expose,framing and add depth of scenery were selected as the research objects.According to the theories of landscape design,the landscape scenes or paths with different techniques are selected for field and laboratory experiments respectively.The experimental results show that:(1)The visual content of visitors in the zigzag path changes constantly,and it cause the environmental behavior effect of different walking and moving scenery,profound space and deeper interest.The distance of view and the direction of sight have significant influence on the behavior of visitors in the garden.(2)In the path of the garden with hide and expose,visitors repeatedly look at different scenes.In the scenario of path simulation in the laboratory,the fixation counts and total fixation time of the main landscape under the technique of hide and expose were improved that the landscape using the technique of hide and expose produced an interest effect.At the same time,cognitive differences of perceptive subjects have an impact on visual behaviors.(3)the rich depth of field brings longer fixation time,the framing technique makes the fixation point distribution more concentrated,and the cognitive reading of materials can promote more active fixation behavior,which verifies the "simulated" environmental behavior effect caused by framing and add depth of scenery.This study explored the micro-behavior characteristics of people's vision in the garden space environment,and obtained a more detailed and in-depth understanding of the landscaping techniques of Suzhou literati gardens from the perspective of subject perception.Based on the analysis of the content and characteristics of the spatial and temporal experience of landscape design techniques,four spatial experience modes of landscape design techniques are further established.The importance of time design for the construction of garden space is emphatically considered,which has certain enlightening effect on architectural design in drawing lessons from literati garden design techniques and displaying the essence of garden construction.
