Tailings reservoir can not only help people to obtain economic benefits,but also threaten the lives and property of the downstream residents of the reservoir area.Once the dam breaks,it will cause immeasurable damage to the downstream.Therefore,it is particularly important to predict and analyze the possible impact of tailings dam break in advance and take targeted measures to prevent it.Taking Xiawu tailings reservoir of Huaqiao Gold Mine Co.,Ltd.in Dexing City,Jiangxi Province as the engineering background,this paper studies the development process of tailings dam-break by combining theoretical formula analysis with numerical simulation,and formulates effective measures to prevent and mitigate the impact of disasters in advance,hoping to provide some reference for disaster prevention and mitigation.Reference resources.The main research results are as follows:(1)Introduced the background of the underground mine tailings project,using a series of indoor geotechnical tests to obtain the basic characteristics of tailings,including particle grading,underwater repose angle,starting flow rate and other parameters,laying the foundation for later research.(2)Carry out the model test of the variation law of the collapse,explore the mechanism of the dam breakage of the prototype sand in the water tank and the change of the fracture morphology under different water flow rates and different dam heights,and discuss the variation law of the tailings collapse.(3)Combined with the variation law of indoor test,the modified empirical formula method is used to calculate the parameters such as the width of the collapse of the docking tailings reservoir,the maximum flow of different sections,and the propagation time of the tailings.(4)According to the investigation report and electronic topographic map of the tailings tailings reservoir,the modeling software Civil-3D is used to establish the three-dimensional model,and the numerical simulation software Flow-3D is introduced to simulate the tailings pond dam break process.Numerical simulation analysis was carried out for the establishment of a certain width of the breach and the establishment of the breach,and the flooding situation of the two working conditions and the data of the downstream sections of the different sections were obtained.The results show that the sand discharge under the dam will not affect the village,but will be submerged.A part of the rice fields downstream,causing economic losses.(5)Comparing the numerical simulation evolution process of the two working conditions with the empirical method,it is found that the empirical formula method has a larger result on the cross-section flow rate,and the arrival time of tailings and the maximum flow rate appear earlier.Compared with the empirical formula method,the numerical simulation method can better reflect the real dam-break situation.The empirical method based on the theory of reservoir dam-break needs further study.
