Chinese ancient masonry structure has a long history,bearing the long history and culture of the Chinese nation,and has great research significance.However,due to natural and man-made influences,many ancient masonry structures have been seriously degraded in material and structural properties,and some even collapsed.Therefore,it is an urgent and arduous task to protect the ancient masonry structure,and the study of the ancient masonry structure has attracted more attention from all walks of life.In order to repair and protect ancient masonry structures more scientifically and reasonably,we should first have a sufficient understanding of their basic mechanical properties.this paper mainly studies the static properties of Tibetan ancient masonry walls by numerical simulation,and the material properties of the old bricks replaced by the ancient city wall and the new bricks used to replace the old bricks are studied as a supplement to the research of the ancient masonry structure.First of all,based on the field investigation of Tibetan ancient masonry walls and the study of relevant materials,the properties of the masonry technology of Tibetan ancient masonry walls are analyzed.The simulation of Tibetan ancient masonry walls is discussed and a modeling method for Tibetan ancient masonry wall is put forward.Secondly,the static properties of single-leaf wall and whole wall of Tibetan ancient masonry wall under compression is analyzed.The basic mechanical properties,deformation properties and corresponding failure mechanism of the wall under compression are obtained,and the relationship between the compressive bearing capacity and wall thickness is also analyzed.These works provide a basis of numerical simulation for further study on compressive properties of Tibetan ancient masonry wall.Furture more,the static properties of outer-leaf wall of Tibetan ancient masonry wall under combined compression and shear loads are analyzed.The failure modes of outer-leaf wall under different compression are obtained.The relationship between shear properties of walls and vertical pressure or the aspect ratio of walls is also analyzed.These works provide a basis of numerical simulation for further study on compression-shear properties of Tibetan ancient masonry wall.Finally,based on old bricks replaced by the ancient city wall in the process of maintenance and new bricks used to replace the old bricks,a series of studies on the density,water absorption,moisture content,compressive and flexural strength of the selected bricks are carried out in accordance with the corresponding specifications.The failure process and failure modes of different bricks are observed,and the relevant experimental data are analyzed.Systematic evaluation is carried out to provide experimental basis for the follow-up restoration of ancient buildings.86 diagrams,38 charts,97 references...
