The Application Of Regional Culture In The Landscape Architecture Design Of Zhijin Ancient Town

With the rapid socio-economic development,the protection and utilization of the ancient cities have become gradually random and disordered dragging ancient cities to the problems such as the loss of regional characteristics,the tendency of simplification and assimilation.Therefore,reconstruction of the cultural and spatial structure of the ancient cities and restoration of the regional characteristics of them have become a focus in current studies.Starting from the theoretical research on the application of regional culture in landscape architecture design,this paper analyzes the concepts of regional culture and landscape architecture,and summarizes the connotation,characteristics and expression of regional culture.In addition,the application of regional culture in landscape architecture design,based on cultural semiotics theory,is proposed in this paper.It takes Zhijin Ancient Town as an example,excavating the regional cultural characteristics of a number of ancient cities;extracting regional cultural symbols and apply them to the renewal design of ancient city landscape architecture,and thus to build an ancient city with regional characteristic and humanistic care.The following studies and conclusions are introduced in this paper.(1)Expound the basic concepts of regional culture and landscape architecture,and sort out the literature on regional culture,landscape architecture as well as the application of regional culture in landscape architecture.Then summarize the connotation of regional culture-including material culture,immaterial culture-and the basic types of landscape architecture-such as entrance landscape architecture,service landscape architecture,recreation landscape architecture,as well as landscape sketches.(2)Discuss the expression connotation,expression method and expression carrier of regional culture in landscape architecture.Meanwhile,for expressing the regional culture,this part proposes the regional cultural symbols extracted from Cultural Semiotics and applies them to landscape architecture.Then expound the meaning,classification,extraction and application of regional cultural symbols in detail.(3)Taking Ping Yao Ancient City,Langzhong Ancient Town and Lijiang Age-old Town as examples,the specific expressions of regional culture in the landscape architecture in ancient towns are investigated and classified,and the application of regional cultural symbols in different landscape architecture types is summarized.(4)Taking the updating and design of the landscape architecture case of Zhijin Ancient City,the fourth part classifies and summarizes the regional culture of Zhijin Ancient City from the perspectives of the material culture and non-material culture Then it extracts the symbols of the regional culture of Zhijin Ancient City and applies the symbols to the development and design of the entrance landscape architecture,service landscape architecture,recreation landscape architecture as well as landscape sketches.
