With increasing demand of energy,air pollution is on rising.To mitigate this issue,combined production of cooling,heat,and power(CCHP)system getting worldwide attention due to its maximum fuel utilization and low emission.A case study recommends that CCHP system should be run under the optimal scheme.The optimal operation,scheduling and design of the CCHP system are perplexing issues which have been explored by using different methods.This thesis focuses on the optimal model design,scheduling and numerical analysis of the CCHP system in contrast with traditional separate generation system(SGS).The electric-thermal equivalent following(ETEF)operation strategy is proposed and explored in addition to electric equivalent following(EEF)and thermal equivalent following(TEF).The multi objective optimization model describing the system cost,reliability and ecological feasibility is constructedtTo achieve our goals,interior point based algorithm is used in Matlab.Interior point is an interesting technique because of its robustness,convergence time,ease of dealing the inequality constraints and few number of iterations to the optimal power flow dilemma.Cost minimization,primary energy saving and carbon emission are defined to assess the performance of CCHP system in comparison to separate generation system for a hypothetical industrial load.In this research,two different model designs are proposed to ensure electric,cooling and heating load in winter and summer to maximize the energy saving by reducing the total cost and carbon dioxide emission.Also day ahead optimal scheduling is studied following the day ahead load forcasting using radial basis function in Matlab,as it plays an important role in microgid's operation&control.Similarly,the real time optimal control assuming the real time data and forecast error is taken into light.The control startegy such as off grid control,direct load control are proposed to optimize the dispatch further.Finally,the results are achieved for each strategy and for each model,i.e.summer and cold season that are compared to each other to evaluate the performance.The results demonstrate that all the control strategies maximize the fuel saving,economic and ecological performance of the CCHP system in comparison to SGS but ETEF mode is more suitable in economic aspect and EEF mode in fuel saving&environmental aspects for the considered hypothetical industrial load.
