With the frequent occurrence of fire accidents in large public places in recent years, there is an urgent need for research on route finding and escape under fire scenarios. In the 13th five-year plan,China’s leaders highlighted the need to strengthen production safety and attach importance to safety planning in order to weaken the damage caused by emergencies. At present, the research on evacuation signs in China is still in the initial stage, and there are relatively few related research results. Most of the evacuation signs are designed according to the relevant guidelines of safety signs and safety signs. At present a relatively standardized and theoretical system has not been formed, and the theoretical level of evacuation signs needs to be further studied. However, most of the researches on fire emergency broadcast are on the hardware level, and there are relatively few researches on the psychological and behavioral effects of people in fire scenes. Therefore,it is worth exploring how the emergency guidance signs and the fire emergency broadcast will affect people’s pathfinding and escape behaviors in the fire scene. This study simulated a real fire scene through virtual reality technology(VR),and used VR scene to deeply discuss the influence and role of emergency guidance signs and fire emergency broadcast on pathfinding escape behavior. The experimental equipment in this study is the HTC VIVE head-mounted device combined with the built-in Tobii Pro Glasses 2 eye-movement tracking module.Skin spot devices and ecg devices were also used in the subsequent measurement of tension and stress level. This study is divided into two parts and three experiments are carried out.The first part explores the influence of emergency guidance signs on pathfinding behavior in fire scenarios, and conducts two experiments.Experiment a pathfinding is discussed for different location of the emergency guidance identification tendency of access to information and pay attention to the degree of resource allocation, the independent variables for the four different location of the emergency guidance identifies interest in eye area(ground, low, medium and high),the dependent variable for three eye movement indicators:AOI Total Fixation Duration,AOI Fixation Count,Percentage of AOI Fixation Count. On the basis of experiment 1,experiment 2 discusses pathfinder’s pathfinding preference for two kinds of high bidirectional guidance marks. The independent variable is two different bidirectional signs(text oriented bidirectional signs and inclination runner bidirectional signs),and the dependent variable is the behavior index of pathfinder’s path selection in the face of signs. The second part explores the influence of fire emergency broadcast on pathfinding behavior in fire scene, and carries out experiment three.Experiment 3 explores the influence of fire emergency broadcast on pathfinder’s pathfinding efficiency and emotion in fire scene. The independent variables were two different fire emergency broadcasts(experimental group and control group),and the dependent variables were the task completion time of the pathfinder successfully escaping to the safety exit and the physiological indicators(HRV and EDA).The Experiment 1 results show that the wayfinder has a higher tendency to obtain information and pay attention to resource allocation in the emergency situation of fire. The Experiment 2 results showed that(1)the text oriented bidirectional guidance logo had no interference and hinting effect on the pathfinding of the subjects.(2)the inclination runner’s bidirectional guidance sign has great interference and implication effect on the route finding of the subjects. The Experiment 3 results showed that:(1)relatively complete and comprehensive fire emergency broadcast can significantly improve the pathfinding efficiency of the subjects in emergency.(2)the triggering of fire conditions in the virtual reality environment can successfully induce the nervous mood of the pathfinder and the high pressure level(3)the relatively complete and comprehensive fire emergency broadcast has no obvious alleviating effect on the nervous mood of the subjects in the emergency.Through three experiments, this study explored the influence and role of two important pathfinding factors(emergency guidance presentation and fire emergency broadcast)on the pathfinder in the fire scene. It provides research support for the standardized design of evacuation in future fire scenes.
