Our requirement of the indoor air quality,keeping the same pace with the development of the society and improvement of the living standard,goes gradually up day after day.The process in cooking will bring massive oil fumes,that is the main source of indoor pollutant.Since the performance of modern architectural structures in air tightness has been significantly improved,that could not only prevent pollution air from exhausting on some level,but also have efficiency in exhausting the kitchen fumes rapidly which is regarded as an important pathway for modifying our indoor air quality.In this research project,author builds a set of experimental equipment for optimization research on the kitchen exhaust system by setting air make-up slots around the stove.This paper primarily surrounds four aspects of experiments,analysis and observation.More specifically,the experiment measures the flow velocity in the air exhausting duct and the flow velocity in the air supplement duct under different conditions;based on the fluid flow formula,calculates the air exhausting and air supplement quantity under different conditions;analyses the calculating results and obtain the variation law of the air supplement quantity with different slots widths.Moreover,the experiment also involves measurements of the flow velocity on the cross section of the air curtain under different conditions,and analyzing the influence law of the flow velocity on the cross section of the air curtain with different conditions,when the air supplement and exhausting system are both working.And also,analyzing the effect of air supplement system for controlling pollutants.The observation carries on in the air make-up and no air make-up two conditions,that refers to the survey about situations of controlling pollutant when in the different heights of the pollutant emission point from the cooking bench,which will be as the foundation of the analysis about effects after adding slots and the influence of slots width for controlling pollutant.When comparing the same pollutant controlling situation,author simultaneously considers the energy conservation effects.Through author observes what the air exhaust system works on with different slots width in the passive air make-up condition,and analyses the impact on the suction effect of air exhaust system by indoor and outdoor pressure difference.Under different conditions,adding the design "butterfly wing ring suction" and carrying on the experiments with different slots widths,comparing the pollutants controlling situation of the air exhausting system·with the "butterfly wing ring suction",and analyzing the impact on the pollutants controlling by adjusting the slots widths.The way of air supplement proposed in this paper decreases the pressure difference between indoor and outdoor,raises the efficiency of air exhaust system.The way brings in the energy conservation and improves the indoor air quality at the same time.Author discovers it’s necessary to select the appropriate slots width,because the excess flow velocity that decides can not only provide effective pollutant controlling,but brings the pollutant indoor resulting in indoor air pollution.The research verifies the accuracy of those simulations,the others relevant to the research can proceed by simulating.
