The construction of the public housing(English called “HDB flats)in Singapore began in the early 1960 s.As of 2015,Singapore has built nearly 1 million public housing units, providing accommodation for more than 4.5 million Singaporeans(82% of Singapore's total population). With such outstanding achievements,Singapore HDB has gained international acclaim and become a model of residence. In addition to providing livable indoor sets, the HDB community also creates a shared and cohesive community public space for residents;in particular, the HDB community respects Singapore's hot and humid climate and explores and provides comfortable and long-stay public spaces.A great deal of experience has been accumulated to provide a model for community optimization in other similar climate zones. This paper is to provide a reference for the high-rise residential area in the southern part of China to summarize the experience of adapting to the hot and humid climate in the public space of the HDB community. The article takes the external space of the HDB housing in Singapore as the research object, based on literature research and history. After the carding and overall census,Three contemporary high-rise flats in Pinnacle@Duxton,SkyVille@Dawson and Waterway Terraces were selected as typical research objects.Field research, comparative analysis and computer simulation were adopted, from spatial form, spatial layout, space type and facility configuration.Analysis of the external space of the HDB housing,And using Ecotect software to quantitatively analyze and evaluate the wind environment and sunshine of external public space of HDB housing,it shows that SkyVille@Dawson's gray space has good ventilation and lighting effects and thermal comfort. The three cases together reflect the design experience of Singapore HDB in the grey space focusing on external openness, pedestrian continuity, building accessibility and spatial diversity. This paper hopes to provide some new design ideas for the design of the external space design of high-rise collective residences in the hot and humid climate regionsof China in the future, while improving the external public space design of the hot and humid climate areas in China, improving the external public space of the housing and promoting social stability and harmony.,and improve residents' happiness.
