Due to the requirements of economical and energy saving,lightweight has become a very important development direction in the manufacturing industry,especially in the field of automobile manufacturing.Plastic products are more and more widely used in the field of automobile manufacturing.Owing to some plastic products cannot be blow molded or injection molded at once,it is necessary to join the two parts by a welding process.But it is difficult in the connection of complex structural plastic parts.In this case,many plastic welding methods have been emerged.the advantages of infrared welding such as good welding quality,high efficiency and easy control is increasingly favored and valued by people.In this thesis,combined with the actual engineering needs,the system of the infrared surface heating welding is established and the experimental research is carried out by using the welding test piece of the air filter inlet pipe of 30% glass fiber reinforced nylon 6.(1)An infrared welding test platform suitable for nylon tube was built,in which the infrared surface heating welding test was carried out with using the orthogonal test scheme constructed according to the heating parameters,heating time,heating distance,welding pressure and holding time.(2)The appearance of the weld parts was evaluated according to the welding evaluation index,and the welded test piece was subjected to a blast test to measure the weld width.(3)The influence of these five welding process parameters on welding performance was studied by orthogonal test.The test results show that the bursting pressure of the welded parts is mainly related to the heating power,heating time and heating distance,but the welding pressing force and the pressure holding time are less affected.What is more,the welding width is mainly related to heating power,heating time,heating distance and welding pressure in contrast to the pressure holding time.(4)The evaluation methods of welding performance were discussed,including short-term performance evaluation and long-term performance evaluation.At the same time,the evaluation method of welding performance of 30% glass fiber reinforced nylon 6 air filter inlet pipe was introduced: visual inspection,burst pressure and air tightness.Three short-termperformance evaluation methods and long-term performance evaluation methods for vibration fatigue durability were tested.
