At present,some national or regional building codes or related industry regulations require engineering structures to perform seismic vibrations of some important structures by time-history analysis.At this time,we should select the ground motion that can make the structure in the most unfavorable state and have enough damage potential.In the case of seismic fortification of some common structures,it is only necessary to select ground motions with relatively damage potential.When we face with massive ground motion information,how to properly select ground motion is often the biggest problem in practical engineering applications.Therefore,it can greatly facilitate the selection of ground motion in the seismic calculation of actual engineering structures based on studying the damage potential of global strong earthquake records and ranking those based on the resultsBased on the above two requirements,this article completes as following:(1)We have compiled the relevant parameters given by the academic community to measure the potential damage potential of ground motion,as well as the relevant parameters commonly used in the ground motion database.And then we have given the scientific meaning of each parameter and the source of the data.Using correlation analysis,the parameters used to measure the sequence of ground motion damage potential have been selected.(2)More than 10,000 pieces of ground motion data are selected from databases of a certain scale around the world,and the ground motion database is constructed by this subject.According to the different information recorded by local earthquakes,the seismic ground information is searched and the ground motion was filtered.The ground motion information is supplemented and the data format and the recording unit is unified by finding the seismic field information and filtering calculation of the ground motion.(3)Based on the ground motion database,the improved I-K hysteretic model is used to calculate the damage index of the inelastic single-degree-of-freedom structure after the ground motion is amplitude-modulated,which is used as the basis for measuring the damage potential of ground motion.The factors affecting the ranking results are analyzed,and the influence of each factor on the ranking results and the impact on the damage index calculation are studied.Finally,according to the damage index segment value,as the final ranking basis,the partial sorting result is given and the damage potential of the ground motion is completed,which provides relevant reference for engineering design.
