For helicopters in high-latitude cold regions, the traditional engine bleed air heating method is not very effective. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new type of auxiliary heating method for helicopters: recovering the heat of the helicopter's main-reducer-oil for cabin heating.Firstly, this paper designs a kind of oil heat recovery system for helicopters in the extremely cold region. The operational principle is to recover the heat of the oil from helicopter's main reducer and cooperate with the engine bleed air,and then, provide hot air to the cabin to enhance the heating capacity.According to the designing parameters, three models are designed for the cockpit and air duct. The model which has the most uniform temperature distribution is selected as the research model by flow field and temperature field analysis. After simplifying the research model, the theoretical calculation of heat transfer is completed. The heat transfer coefficient and the structural load of the tank and the pipeline are then carried out to carry out the CFD simulation of the research model. The results of theoretical calculations and simulations show that the average temperature in the cabin is still not meeting the requirements when the cockpit is heated by the maximum bleed air of the engine. Therefore,it is necessary to add the oil heat recovery system to provide additional heat.Simulate the simulation of the constant amount of bleed air with the heat from the oil heat recovery system to determine the heat exchange capacity that meets the designing requirements of the cabin temperature. The simulation results of the two cases are compared and analyzed, the feasibility of the scheme that helicopter oil heat recovery system combined with the engine bleed air for the cabin heating is verified. The temperature field and flow field distribution in the cabin and pipeline are analyzed and compared. On this basis, the simulation of reducing the engine bleed air volume is carried out,and all the simulation results are compared and analyzed, and the practical application suggestions are put forward to provide reference for the optimal design of the heating systems of the helicopters in the cold regions.
