Icing and snowing on overhead transmission lines in extremely cold climatic events is an enormous threat to the stability and safety of power system.Some problems caused by icing,such as line galloping,insulator flashover and tower collapse,etc.,occurred in many countries.With relatively mature technology,current monitoring techniques of icing on transmission line based on a basic principle of weighing method is simple,straightforward,which is widely used in domestic on-line monitoring system of icing on overhead line.Icing early warning system of China Southern Power Grid transmission line had straight tower calculating model based weighing method,the system still exists insufficient: the critical basic parameters of terminal are lack of effcctive calibration principles and procedures,then the basic parameters are missing or incorrectly filled,resulting in the system not working effectively;lack of research on evaluation methods of icing monitoring system for overhead transmission lines and reliability of ice observation.First of all,introduces the overall structure of the disaster monitoring(early ice)monitoring and early warning system of the Southern Power Grid and the principle of the ice-fracturing mechanics calculation model,pointing out that the system currently has shortcomings.Aiming at the length of the wire is the key factor affecting the accuracy of the ice-fracturing calculation model,the effects of temperature,ice coating,high wind,ice coating and high wind on the length of the wire are studied.At the same time,an improved method for calculating the ground ice coating is proposed..Data pre-processing and data mining for 2708 phase/ground data of the ice monitoring and early warning system of China Southern Power Grid,and the common guide/ground type and insulator string type of different ice zone level and voltage level are obtained,and the creepage level is used in combination with the pollution level.Compared with the distance method,the quality range of insulators with different voltage levels is obtained.The detailed school approval and standardization process are formulated to solve the problem of missing or missing filling of the basic parameters of the system terminal,so that the ice monitoring system can operate effectively and reliably.Using the data of 18925 artificial ice observations and system monitoring in the spring of 2016~2017 spring,2017 winter~2018 spring southern power grid,and processing and excavation,the artificial contrast value K in the ice-covered period is proposed,and the ice monitoring terminal for K>0.3 is proposed.The box-type analysis method is used to study the historical ice-free period and the ice-covered period pull data.The reliability of the ice-covered monitoring system and the artificial iceviewing of the overhead transmission line is studied.It is concluded that there are basic parameter errors,sensor anomalies and grounding in the use of the ice-covered monitoring system.There are five problems such as insufficient ice calculation model and small or large artificial ice observation.Combined with relevant cases,the method of evaluating the reliability of ice monitoring terminal and artificial ice observation is proposed.It can be a reference for improvement of the ice monitoring system and ice prevention work for the future.
