| Water-based lubricants have attracted the attention of researchers because of their wide range of resources and environmental friendliness. In order to further develop water-based lubricants, basic theoretical research on lubrication and wear is also indispensable.Thickener aqueous solution is one of the simplest water-based lubricants.Tribological experiments with thickener aqueous solution can exclude the influence of other additives, only considering the viscosity of lubricants. This paper has done the following work:1.By using polyethylene oxide(PEO)as thickener,a series of thickener aqueous solution with different viscosity were prepared. The functional relationship between the dynamic viscosity and concentration of PEO aqueous solution was fitted according to the measured data. The trial-production process of PEO aqueous solution with required viscosity was reduced. The rheological properties of PEO aqueous solution were analyzed by using HAAKE RheoWin Mars 40 rheometer.2.According to the fitted function relationship, the PEO aqueous solution with the same viscosity as the lubricating oil was prepared.Lubrication effect of PEO aqueous solution and lubricating oil on sliding bearing was tested. It was found that at low speed, the lubrication state is in boundary lubrication, and the friction force of bearing using PEO aqueous solution is higher than that of bearing using lubricating oil with the same viscosity. With the increase of rotational speed, the frictional force of the two lubricants tends to be the same when the lubrication state changes from boundary lubrication to fluid lubrication.3.Considering the influence of friction pair material, load and speed on wear rate, the wear test without lubricant was carried out on MRH-3 high-speed ring friction and wear tester.A numerical calculation method based on Archard wear calculation model is adopted to calculate the wear amount under the corresponding working conditions with the wear test.Through the comparison and analysis of the data,it is found that the results obtained by numerical calculation are basically consistent with the experimental results.4.The wear tests with lubricant oil and water-based lubricant were carried out on the ring block friction and wear tester, and compared with the wear tests without lubricant. It is found that the water-based lubricant itself has a certain anti-wear effect, and the greater the speed, the more obvious the anti-wear effect of the water-based lubricant. The anti-wear mechanism of water-based lubricants is analyzed by combining experiments and numerical calculation. It is considered that the anti-wear effect of water-based lubricants mainly comes from the effect of Micro-Elastohydrodynamic lubrication on pressure distribution. |
