Research On Confucian Temple Architecture In South Fujian

The Southern Fujian Confucianism was introduced from the Central Plains in the Southern Dynasties,flourishing in the early Tang Dynasty,fully prospering in the Song Dynasty,continuing to develop during the Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasty,and formed an important branch of Chinese Confucianism,having an important influence on southern Fujian culture.The Confucius temple architecture in southern Fujian is the carrier of Confucianism culture which is built by the official,having made important contributions to the spread and development of ancient culture.Not only it follows the ancient official temple regulations,but also combines the local characteristics of southern Fujian in the specific forms and practices of the building.It shows a unique appearance,reflecting the diversity of traditional Chinese architecture,and is an important part of architectural culture.Due to social development and changes in the times,many southern Fujian Confucius temple buildings are demolished or damaged,and there are few related research results and still some gaps and misunderstandings which cannot reflect the value of Confucian culture and Confucian temple architecture in southern Fujian,creating obstacles to the protection and repair of existing Confucian temple buildings.Therefore,it is urgent to systematically organize and study the Confucius temple architecture in southern Fujian.On the basis of relevant local history literature,this paper systematically mines the related content of the Confucius temple architecture in southern Fujian.It combes the development of Confucius temples in southern Fujian,analyzing the method of site selection of Confucius temples,restoring the form of the overall layout and the basic architectural configuration,summarizing the characteristics of the building ontology,summing up the sacrifice methods and related spaces of ancient and modern Confucius temples from historical evolution and arc hitectural selection.address and layout,building configuration,architectural form,sacrifice and space with the survey of 11 existing Confucius temples and some detailed mapping of buildings.According to the current situation of the Confucius temple architecture in southern Fujian,it clarifies problems in spatial layout and craft practices,and discusses the practical value and protection measures of ancient temple studies in the contemporary era,hoping to provide reference for the study of the Confucius temple architecture and heritage protection in southern Fujian,contributing to the improvement of the traditional architecture system in southern Fujian and even the revival of traditional Chinese culture.
