Kong Zi is a great ideologist, politician and educator in spring and Autumn Period. Hewas the founder of Confucianism. The temple which was used to enshrine him is called theConfucian Temple. The temple is usually a group of magnificent and majestic orientalbuilding. It’s full of unique arts and historical features.Confucian Temple is the same asConfucianism, containing deep cultural significance and important academic value. It is amain element of ancient city. It clearly reflects the city construction system.Beijing Confucian Temple was the place where the emperors of Yuan, Ming, QingDynasty holding memorial ceremonies for Kong Zi. It was built in1302, Ming Dynasty, andreconstructed in1411. After several repairs in Ming and Qing Dynasty it became the currentsize.Beijing Confucian Temple is a great resource for studying architecture design thought ofConfucian Temples, ancient patriarchal etiquette and so on. It provides abundant information.Iit has high scientific, historical, artistic value.This research not only can further understandthe function and meaning of Confucian Temple in city culture, but also can be benefit to theprotection and restoration of Confucian Temple; it has important guiding meanings to thedeep research on ancient architectural technology and modern antique buildings.The main studying object is Beijing Confucius Temple. This research uses Confucianismas the background to analysis the development course of Confucian Temple and to discuss thebasic shapes of Confucian Temple,.According to historical documents and relevant materials,and by using analysis, induction and summary, this passage is going to understand the originand development of Beijing Confucian Temple in Ming and Qing Dynasty, recover the floorplan of Beijing Confucian Temple in Yuan Dynasty period, and research the design patternand the changes of the base between Ming and Qing Dynasty by using flat grid method.From the perspective of whole space, the passage realized the inherent plan of BeijingConfucian Temple and the traditional Chinese garden stylized layout used on it.The buildingspace not only meet the requirements of ritual, but also follow the elaborate hierarchy and thecode of etiquette: the ritual space Dachengdian is the core of this group of buildings, itforms a Confucian Temple axis in east-west direction, and constructs three courts differentin function in front and rear.And in the overall layout we make a detailed comparison of theConfucian Temple in Qufu and Beijing.At the end, the passage discusses every single buildingof the temple in culture connotation analysis and construction characteristics, and describesthe component approaches, building decoration and detail.
