Application Practice And Analysis Research Of Cable Fault Location Method

As the number of power cables put into operation increases,if the exact location of the fault point cannot be quickly detected after the power cable fails,the repair time and maintenance cost will be considerable,and the reliability of the power supply will also be affected.Therefore,how to accurately and quickly find the exact location of cable faults has become one of the hot issues of current concern.The research on fault location technology is inevitable.This paper analyzes the cable fault instances of Dongguan Shatian Power Supply Branch,analyzes the different types of cable faults and the causes of the faults,and the practical application effects and difficulties of cable fault location in the current distribution network power supply system.According to the cause of the fault,the fault types of the power cable are analyzed.Several common methods for detecting the fault of the power cable are introduced.The advantages and disadvantages of various methods are compared and analyzed.In this paper,the technical conditions of power cable fault location technology and the specific application of power fault location system are studied.Various cable fault location methods are analyzed,and the principle is discussed in detail.The corresponding test methods are adopted for different types of faults.The advantages and practicality of this fault detection system.Finally,the general steps and future development trends of cable fault location are given,which provides a feasible solution for production and power supply enterprises to quickly and accurately find fault points.
