In order to obtain the failure mode of the assembled and side-plate reinforced RBS joints under the cyclic loading and study the influence of changing of various parameters on the hysteresis performance of the joints,the finite element numerical simulation analysis of the assembled and side-plate reinforced RBS joints is carried out in this paper.It provides reference for the aseismatic design of the joints and the application and popularization of the joints.Based on summarizing the research results of the domestic and foreign scholars about the beam to column joints,the type joints is put forward in this paper,and the patent right was given to the type joints.Firstly,The finite element software is used to simulate the existing test specimens.And after verifying the correctness and validity of the finite element modeling method,static force and Pseudo static force were performed on the BASE test piece to obtain mechanical property of node under monotonic load and reciprocating load.The failure mode of the type joints is a typical failure of the plastic hinge at the beam end.Under the reciprocating load,the BASE joint is has a good hysteretic performance and shows that the joint can be used aseismic design of structure.Based on the BASE test piece,a series of parameter analysis was performed on the assembled and side-plate reinforced RBS joints.The parameters considered included the thickness of the end plate,the angle of trapezoidal side-plate,the distance from the weakened area to the beam end,the weakening of the length,and the weakening of the depth.In all parameters,the weakening depth has the most prominent effect on the hysteresis performance of the joints.The value of the weakened depth should be taken into consideration to make the stiffness and strength of the node without reducing or slightly reducing,the displacement ductility coefficient and energy dissipation capacity of the joints has improved.In order to embody the design principle of "strong node weak component",the thickness of the end plate should not be too small;the too much angle of trapezoidal side-plate will lead to stress concentration;the too large distance between the weakenedregion and the beam end will lead to the column bears too much stress,reduce the degree of reliability of the joint.the too small undermined length will lead to stress concentration,reduce the bearing capacity of the joint.The rotational stiffness computational formula of the joint is given under the influence of component method.And a comparison is carried out between result given by the computational formula and the result by the numerical modeling,the maximum error is in a acceptable range,this shows the rotational stiffness computational formula of the joint have a reliability.
