The stratosphere airship can achieve stable flight for a long time in the stratosphere by buoyancy and maneuver of its own power.Compared with other aeronautics and astronautics devices,the stratosphere airship has so many advantages,which has a great value in remote sensing,early-warning,high-resolution real-time monitoring,etc.The major structure of the stratosphere airship is an inflatable balloon,the capsule usually has a huge shape in order to maintain the airship enough buoyancy.The stratospheric airship works for a long time in the stratosphere which contains large temperature difference between day and night and intense cosmic rays.The envelope of large capsule is susceptible to damage.Therefore,the establishment of the airship envelope structural health monitoring system is very necessary.The research in this paper includes three main parts.Firstly,there are some problems in traditional cable monitoring system,such as the heavy cable,complex routing,low reliability,poor scalability,and so on.In order to overcome these problems,wireless sensor network technology is adopted to realize envelope strain monitoring of the stratosphere airship.The structure of the wireless sensor network node are introduced,and the hardware and software of node are designed.The low-temperature environmental adaptability experiment is carried out and a test of stainless steel specimen is finished.Then,Optimal placement of the sensor is put forward in order to achieve the greatest information of the spatial structure with the least sensors.Due to the traditional methods based on modal cannot meet the needs of the sensor placement of airships,a new approach which takes account of strain and strain variation is proposed.The optimal sensor placement is achieved by genetic algorithm.Finally,taking the small verifying airship as the research object,according to the result of optimization,the strain monitoring experiment system of airship envelope is built based on wireless sensor network.The experimental data is obtained,the results show that the experimental data is consistent with the finite element simulation value,it also demonstrates that the wireless sensor network system is suitable for strain monitoring of airship envelope.The research in this paper can provided reference for the design of wireless sensor network and envelope online monitoring to stratospheric airship.
