The water shipping is easy to see while sailing in severe sea conditions, and the water will slamming to deck and superstructure. This will contribute to a violent impact on ship structure. So during designing large scale containor ship and FPSO,it is important to pay special attention to the water shipping phenomenon. This theis is based on the summary of exsiting research findings, and uses the CFD software to conduct numerical simulation of green water on deck. The main contents are listed as follows:The ideal compressible air model and constant density air model are introduced to the numerical model in order to study the influence of the entrapped air.The accuracy of this method is confirmed by conducting the numerical simulation of the experiment and comparing the results with the experiment's data and 2-D simulation's results. After that, numerical simulations with different wave parameters are conducted based on the numerical model, and the results show a lot of water shipping types. Two typical water shipping types are selected to be analyzed, and the pressure of the deck is discussed to get a view of its features. What's more, the boat model is adjusted to study the pressure on the superstructure. And two typical patterns of the pressure on superstructure is summarized. The features of the pressure are discovered as well.Features of the pressure on deck and superstructure are found after these researches. And the method will be great value to forecasting the load in engineering application.
