Seakeeping is the focus of research on ship academic and engineering circles for a long time.In order to improve the seakeeping performance of ships,researchers constantly developing new type of ships,then the SWATH ship was born.From the 60 s and 70 s of last century,European and American countries,Japan,South Korea and China have gradually invested in SWATH catamaran.Until the end of the last century,the SWATH catamaran has finally entered a new stage of practical research.In addition to the conventional vertical struts SWATH ship,inclined struts SWATH with superior seakeeping performance has been developed.In the academic circle,many scholars have proved that the tilt of the pillar can be used to reduce the increase of resistance by wave energy.At present,the author's laboratory is devoted to the exploration of large,high-speed inclined struts SWATH catamaran.Study on the ship seakeeping performance of inclined struts SWATH has a very important value.Compared with the ordinary catamaran,the biggest difference between inclined strut SWATH is the strut,so this paper mainly explores the influence on struts arrangements for inclined struts SWATH's seakeeping performance,and focus on the motion response and added resistance in waves.On the exploration of seakeeping performance of inclined strut SWATH,this paper used the method of numerical calculation.In numerical calculation,based on the three-dimensional potential flow theory,and combined with viscous damping formula,we calculate the motion response of the ship in waves.Then we calculated the added resistance of the ship in waves by using Havelock formula.In addition,we obtained the significant motion values and average added resistance by combing the calculating results in regular waves with wave spectrum of specified sea area.This paper chose the length,longitudinal position,angle of struts and transverse distance of struts as research points.The data indicated that the length,longitudinal position,angle of struts and transverse distance of struts had remarkable effects on motion and added resistance.so we put forward the best configuration design and provided ideas for SWATH optimization.
