In recent years,with the rapid development of the photonics industry,the application of optical free-form surfaces has become more widespread.However,the precise and efficient machining of free-form surfaces is very difficult,and the traditional processing methods are too expensive to process.The diamond turning technology based on the fast tool servo has high processing precision,good surface roughness and high processing efficiency,and can perform precision machining of optical free-form surfaces well.However,for an optical free-form surface with a height difference of up to the order of millimeters,it is necessary to develop a fast tool servo with large stroke,high frequency and high precision.Therefore,based on the progressive multifocal optical lens processing machine under development,this paper has carried out research on the fast tool servo control system for the fast tool servo mechanism based on voice coil motor drive.The purpose is to explore the influence and control law of the control system on the accuracy characteristics,tracking performance,response frequency,etc.of the fast tool servo.The structure of the fast tool servo is the basis of the research of the control system.Therefore,the research on the processing principle and structural characteristics of the fast tool servo is first carried out,including processing principle and cutting force characteristic analysis,structural improvement design and static analysis,air bearing pressure distribution and bearing capacity calculation and structural modal analysis.At the same time,the performance of the control system depends on the characteristics of the fast tool servo system.Therefore,the technical specifications of the fast tool machining and the important performance parameters of the fast tool servo machining are analyzed.The main technical index requirements for the research of the fast tool servo control system are put forward.In order to make the fast tool servo control system meet the performance index requirements and realize the precision machining of the fast tool servo,the research of the fast tool servo control system and the research of the control parameter tuning are carried out by using the simulation environment.Firstly,the composition of the fast tool servo control system is analyzed,and the mathematical model of the control system is established for simulation research.The three methods of manual tuning parameters,BP neural network tuning parameters and H-J mode search method tuning parameters are used.The fast tool servo control system that meets the technical requirements under simulation conditions is determined by analysis.At the same time,the simulation performance research of the control system is carried out,including the influence analysis of the precision of the fast tool servo and the selection of the parameters of the fast tool processing.In order to verify the feasibility of the fast tool servo precision machining after the control system analysis and parameter tuning,the performance of the fast tool servo control system is tested by the experimental test device and the lens processing machine tool.The performance of the control system meets the technical performance indicators.At the same time,the initial lens surface shape processing of the fast tool servo is carried out,and the obtained lens surface shape accuracy satisfies the processing requirements.In summary,performance tests and preliminary experimental studies show that the results of the research and parameter tuning of the fast tool servo control system are feasible and effective.
