In recent years,researches on building energy conservation in China have been developing towards "green building","ultra-low-energy building" and "nearly-zero-energy building",corresponding technical standards have been specified as well.The newly issued technical standard for near-zero-energy buildings(GB/ t51350-2019)is a key step on the road of building energy conservation of China.With the improvement and development of technology,the ultimate goal of zero energy building is within reach.With the development of building energy efficiency technology,the design of zero energy building(ZEB)has become much more complicated,due to the large amount of options of energy saving measures,such as high performance insulation materials,passive techniques,efficient energy systems and equipment,the use of renewable energy,etc.It’s the key and difficulty of zero energy building design to find the appropriate combination of these options,to achieve ZEB and reduce the cost as much as possible.Referring to the ideas and methods of foreign advanced building performance simulation and optimization software,a foreign advanced software,CResOp(Chinese Residential Energy Simulation and Optimization Program)was developed to meet the characteristics and requirements of Chinese Residential building design process.Users can quickly set up a building model,and set up design schemes easily with software’s Chinese database,then CResOp can find the optimal scheme for different objective functions automatically with the assistance of the optimization algorithm equipped.This software has provided an efficient tool with friendly interface and comprehensive functions for engineers,aims to reduce the labor and improve the efficiency of Chinese residential building design process,and reduce the cost of building design schemes.This paper presents an overall optimization strategy and a step by step optimization strategy for Chinese zero energy residential building designing based on the existing research and design process of Chinese zero energy buildings.These two strategies combined with the genetic algorithm and sequential search optimization algorithm were compared,then determines the application of the two strategies.This research provides a reference for the design and optimization of Chinese zero-energy residential buildings in engineering application scene.Last but not least,this paper has accomplished an optimization of the design of a residential building located in Dalian,China,using CResOp software and step by step optimization strategy with the help of sequential search technique.The optimal design not only achieve zero energy consumption,but also control the cost of optimal design effectively.
