Study On Design Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Theme Park

With the increasing demand of people’s health and the development of the traditional Chinese medicine culture industry under the government’s promotion,there is an upsurge in the construction of medical plants gardens in various cities.This paper focuses on the use of medical plants and the expression of landscape culture.Its significance lies in the protection of medical plants resources and the enrichment of landscape contents,as well as the continuation of connotation of traditional culture.Through literature review method,case reference analysis method and field research method,the author concludes that China’s medical plants gardens are mainly featured in characteristic plants,popular science education,and health tourism.And from the basic theories of “yin-yang Theory”,“Five-element Theory” and “Theory of Visceral Outward Manifestation” in the traditional Chinese medicine culture,the coupling of culture and landscape is analyzed.Finally,Huaihua Yaoxiang Valley project is used as a practical case for landscape design.The main findings of this paper are as follows:(1)The overall design of Huaihua Yaoxiang Valley follows the design principles of suitability,visuality,ecology,and sustainability.According to the guiding theories of yin and yang and the five elements,the landscape shows as layout of “two rings,three blocks,and six gardens”.(2)Four kinds of expression techniques,including abstract condensing,scene reproduction,metaphor interpretation,and sensory transmission,are integrated into the landscape design.Landscape themes are designed for the entrance landscape,Reception Service Center,Breeding Center for Chinese Herbal Medicine,Wet Medical Plants Garden,Rose Garden.Tianxiang Garden,Lily Garden,Peony Garden,Xinyi Garden and Taiji Garden.(3)It makes full use of the original natural resources and transforms the landform and water body to create a landscape pattern of “near the mountain and by the water”.(4)In the design of plant cultivation,it emphasizes design concept of cultural inheritance,integration in nature,and convalescence garden,and highlights the ornamental and production functions of medical plants.(5)The use of cultural symbols in the design of logo systems and sketch design constructs landscape cultural features.Through the landscape design of Huaihua Yaoxiang Valley Project,the author finds a new idea for the landscape design for traditional Chinese medicine cultural theme park.First,as for the site selection,it is not necessary to restrict to a large medical plants garden or a place in the park.Instead,it shall turn to countryside and use the countryside as a carrier to achieve a combination of agriculture and traditional Chinese medicine culture.Second,in terms of landscape design,the functionality of the park construction shall be increased.For example,the functions of agricultural production and health services shall be increased,and the combination of fun and labor will be conducted.Finally,this paper also puts forward the expectations of a new model of combining agriculture,tourism with culture.
