Earthquakes are common natural disasters, and may cause heavy damage on both economy and lives.Bridge,as an important transportation hub, once damaged in the earthquake, will bring huge effect to the rescue work and cause secondary damage.Reference to the seismic design code of different countries,we can find that, countries have common regulations and references on regular low-pier bridges, but there is no absolute authority or unity on irregular high-pier bridges. Therefore, researches on the seismic and reference to the design of high-pier bridges is very important and meaningful. The main content of this paper including:(1)Analysis the seismic design method based on force, set the model of 2-DOF system, and get the natural frequency?the shearing force of two vibration mode by mode-superposition method.By changing the variable,we will get different results and analysis.(2)Study the smiliar seismic design code of different countries based on displacement, find and analysis the commons and differences.A set of high-pier models was designed refer to common high-pier bridge design drawings and specifications, their yield curvature, yield displacement, ultimate curvature and ultimate displacement were calculated.(3)The high pier model created by the third charpter was simulated by ANSYS software and Tianjin wave was used as the seismic wave. The pier can get the results of top displacement and top culvatures on different heights under the condition of concretion in the bottom of the piers and the reinforcement suggestion by the analysis of the results were shown.(4)The suggestions of bearing selections were put forward through the simulation of the acceleration on the top of piers.
