In recent years,an increasing number of electrical components and appliances in automobiles result in a rapid growth in energy demand.While the weight and complexity of the vehicle electrical wiring harness increased.The increased load and complexity of automotive wiring harnesses significantly increases the risk of failure in the product life cycle.A large proportion of the spontaneous combustion accidents are caused by electrical faults,which are usually caused by wiring harness failure.The automotive wiring harness as one of the important part in the vehicle intends to achieve two major functions: power supply and electrical system connection.The power supply function is the basic property of the vehicle harness,which also is known as the power distribution of the harness.In order to reduce the risk of vehicle wiring harness failure in the whole life cycle,to avoid vehicle spontaneous combustion accidents and improve the reliability of the product,it is very important to study the reliability of power distribution.There are many types of components in the wiring harness,including wires,terminals,connectors,tape,cable ties,staples,brackets,etc.Due to the power distribution of the wiring harness is mainly composed of wires,fuses,central electrical boxes,relays,and controllers.The automotive wiring harness product reliability has relationship with the reliability of its power distribution.This paper mainly focuses on the automotive wiring harness power distribution system reliability research.The reliability of the power distribution of the wiring harnesses is largely dependent on the inherent reliability of the parts and the reliability of the use of them.By studying the characteristics of these parts to improve their reliability in the power distribution system,it can be achieved to improve the reliability of the entire power distribution system.At the same time,the power distribution system of automobile wiring harnesses serves all the electric devices on the automobile.Most customers of the vehicles are car drivers.The influence of the harness products to the vehicles is finally reflected to the actual customers in the process of using the corresponding electric parts.Therefore,the reliability analysis of wiring harness power distribution needs to be integrated with the electrical appliances and their power supply circuits.In this paper,we classify the types of vehicle electrical devices,determine the priority of the corresponding lines,assign a reliability level,and analyze the potential failure modes to guide the design and optimization of the power supply and grounding of the power distribution system.Then with the specific characteristics of the fuse and the ambient temperature the fuse needs match the electrical current of the corresponding electrical consumer.Similarly,according to the characteristics of the wire,the heat dissipation model of the wire is established and calculated.It is used in electrical appliances,fuses and wire matching work.At the same time,the paper also puts forward some suggestions for the design of the central electric box,so that the reliability of the power distribution system is guaranteed in the design phase.This paper also studies the reliability test of the power distribution system of the automobile wiring harness,including the test equipment,the test method and its optimization discussion.At the same time,the test result analysis and the data processing method are also involved in this paper.Combined with the test data,the reliability analysis is conducive to optimizing the design and to improve the reliability of the power distribution of the wiring harness.Accordingly for the overprotected part of the system,the product cost and the weight of the vehicle are both reduced.The resource and related expenses are cut down and the reliability of the product is guaranteed.
