With the rapid development of the automobile electronic technology, the cars play animportant role in use a lot of electronic products to improve the comfortable and safety. But alarge number of applications of electronic system also brought the electric power of thevehicle, the wire quantity, weight and complexity of the problems rise rapidly, at the sametime, the reliability of the vehicle electrical system is fall. The reliability of the electric systembecome as a new important issue.This paper mainly researches on the reliability problems in automotive wiring harness.First of all, based on automobile structure layout for automotive wiring harness designprocess to draw3D and2D wiring harness diagram to carry on the design. Analyzed thewiring harness protection devices design, selection of wires and connectors and seals selectionprinciple. Secondly, the reliability of knowledge used in the design of the vehicle wiringharness, mainly on the wire loop, terminals, connectors and wiring harness protectionreliability analysis and put forward reasonable solution. According to the product qualitycontrol method, real-time monitoring of production process, through the control plan, a clearcontrol methods and indicators, and achieved the goal that improve the reliability of wiringharness. And through the key working procedure in the process of automotive wiring harnessprocessing for failure modes and the profile analysis, to quickly determine whether qualifiedproduct. Finally with a terminal pressure contact height experiments identified a terminalcrimping height standard. Through the experimental details reliability test procedure andmethod, the standard wire harness provides a test method and basis. This paper provides sometheoretical guidance for the research on reliability of wire harness.
