Flow field distribution characteristics in the measuring pipe is the key factor for the measuring accuracy of orifice-plate flow meter.With the title “Study on Improving Accuracy of Orifice-Plate Flow Meter with Flow conditioner”,the thesis focuses on performance of different flow conditioners such as Etoile,Bundle and K-Lab in component cooling water system based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The thesis has academic value on flow conditioner selection,performance evaluation and engineering application.Flow distribution in orifice-plate flow meter and application of flow conditioner are summarized in this thesis.The research situation of flow conditioner,flow field analysis base on CFD and some issues on engineering application are also discussed in this thesis.The main work of the thesis is summarized as following: The overall procedure of flow field simulation including CFD numerical simulation mechanism,flow state,and control equations presented.Combined with application in component cooling water system flow measurement,the numerical simulation on three different flow conditioners’ application in component cooling water system flow measurement is performed to analyze the flow field.The conclusions of thesis are summarized that the K-Lab flow conditioner performs best of the three conditioners.It can make the flow field meet the requirement and improve the measurement accuracy for 0.5%.So the K-Lab flow conditioner is the best choice for the current piping module.
