As an important element in mechanical equipment,Gear has the advantages of high bearing capacity and smooth transniission.It's an indispensable key transmission component of modern industrial production and mechanical assembly,which is widely used in precision machinery,equipment manufacturing,transportation,aviation,aerospace and other fields.Therefore,the design,manufacture and measurement of gear has been an important symbol of the development of industrial technology.With the rapid development of science and technology,gear transmission is moving in the direction of high speed,heavy load,light weight and high precision.At present,our country has made great achievements in the research of common gear,such as spur gears,helical gears,bevel gears,etc.But the research of herringbone gear carried out less.Herringbone gear consists of two helical gears with the same helix angles and opposite helical senses.In addition to inherit the advantages of helical gears,it can also be able to self balance the axial force in the process of transmission.Because the structure of Herringbone gear is relatively complex,so how to create a precise mathematical model and study the suitable measurement method has increasingly become urgent research topic.According to processing method of involute cylindrical gear and forming principle of involute,spatial coordinate system of the workpiece is established,and tooth surface equation of involute herringbone gear is derived.What's more,MATLAB programming is used to calculate the tooth surface equations.3D graphics simulation is completed and tooth surface model is established.Secondly,according to the definition of the deviation of involute cylindrical gear based on national standard,methods are given to solve tooth profile deviation,helix deviation and pitch deviation in this paper.Formulas for calculating deviation are derived.Tooth surface modeling software and error evaluation software based on Lab VIEW platform are compiled,the human-computer interaction interface of tooth surface modeling and error evaluation are designed,and the corresponding software programming are completed.Finally,the three coordinate measuring machine is used to measure tooth profile,tooth helix and single pitch.A series of measurement points are obtained.According to solving methods of three kinds of deviation,original measurement data are processed,and three kinds of deviation are obtained.The correctness of the calculation method of theoretical tooth surface model and the deviation is verified.In addition,original measurement data is imported into the error evaluation software.According to the evaluation results,the feasibility of the system is verified.
