The research paper focuses on optimizing the design of the lifting beam for ship superstructure's integral assembly in a shipbuilding enterprise,thereby saving the cost,lessening the welding work and decreasing hours.The current planted lifting beam,used by the enterprise more than a decade ago,is an independent component with huge amounts of welding work for its large size;additionally,the lifting beam need to be cut off after lifting followed by the grinding of the deck and the welding of the deck coaming,which means burdensome work.The new lifting beam,an improved variant of the original one,has the main advantages as follows,“since the flitch plates are not welded on deck and it is designed integrally between center plates and walls,the welding workload are significantly reduced during the assembling of lifting beam;furthermore,the welding of the deck coaming will be unnecessary because it is reserved during the whole lifting process,afterwards,it only need to remove the center plates,consequently reducing the work including cutting and grinding remarkably.”Instead of current independent lifting beam,the research and the design for the new one are carried out to address the problem of the aforementioned heavy workload resulting from the assembling and cutting of the old one.The main contents of this paper include:(1)Planning the complete lifting and mounting of ship superstructure,taking the location of dock,the parameters of the dock and the gantry crane and the assembling position of the lifting beam into account.(2)Fixing the dimensions of the lifting beam and the total weight adding the superstructure,via calculating the weight distribution and the gravity center of superstructure,covering devices,home equipment,outfitting and the hull.(3)Establishing the finite element model for the superstructure through utilizing the software Sesam to check the structure strength and to further refine the structure of the lifting beam,performing the relevant calculation and obtaining the preliminary result.(4)Introducing the local reinforcement design,aiming at the area with high stress and/or large deformation according to the above result.(5)Determining the ultimate design by the modification of the model and the subsequent calculation,adjusting the design to ensure it meet the requirements of the rules eventually.
