HP medium-speed bowl mill,as an important auxiliary machinery of coal fired boiler in thermal power plant,its design and manufacturing technology was introduced into China for nearly 30 years.Along with our country economy enters the new normal,electricity demand slowed and thermal power project construction will slow pace,all these lead to the increasingly fierce market competition of medium-speed coal mill product.To enhance the core competitiveness of products and market share,it is necessary to analyze the structure of the HP medium-speed bowl mill,so as to further optimize the product structure,decrease the cost and increase the benefit.Taking HP1003 coal mill as the research object,the analytic method and finite element method were used to analyze the structure of mill's main components,based on the product design parameters and actual engineering data.The influence of thermal stress caused by the temperature distribution inside the mill was fully considered during the finite element analysis of mill housing,and the differences in total deformation and stress distribution of mill housing between the with and without thermal load case were analyzed.Also,its vibration frequency and vibration mode were analyzed.On the basis of static structural analysis and modal analysis,fatigue analysis was conducted on the grinding bowl and its fatigue safety factor was obtained.Based on the analysis results,the structures of journal shaft and grinding bowl were improved.The results show that the strength of the major parts of the bowl mill can meet the design requirements.Natural frequencies of mill housing and bowl assembly are quite different from the work frequency of bowl mill,as a result,resonance problem will not occur.And the fatigue failure of the grinding bowl won't occur in the given design life.Through the structural analysis and optimization of journal shaft and grinding bowl,the manufacturing cost was significantly reduced and the product's economic benefit was improved.
