Axial z-shaped water channel is a common cooling water channel structure for water cooled motors.Its simple manufacturing and low cost lead to implementation of platform products and mass production,and thus much research and application.In this article,the design method of Z-shaped water channel and direction of optimisation will be given,based on the research object of 52 KW permanent magnet synchronous motor applied in electric vehicles,design procedure of Z-shaped water channel,and consideration of water cooling effect and loss of water channel pressure.In this article,the calculation of three-dimensional temperature field of permanent magnet synchronous motor is given based on heat conduction theory and fluid mechanics theory,And according to the actual operating conditions of the motor,calculate the heat loss of the motor.Calculated by theoretical analysis,solve the heat transfer coefficient between the various parts of the motor.Equivalent calculation of the stator windings of the motor windings and the insulating paper,the impregnated paint,the air and other materials,Based on the established temperature field calculation model,the steady-state temperature field distribution near the inflection point position of the motor in the rated operating condition and the transient temperature distribution near the inflection point position under the peak operating condition are calculated quantitatively,and the instant state temperature distribution under its peak working condition,get has motor temperature distribution law,for axis to z font cooling water road of design and optimization provides has according to.The Paper waterways for 16,18,20,adjoining waterway connecting port width of the watercourse width s 9 different structural programmes,the coupling simulation of motor fluid field and temperature field under rated conditions of steady-state temperature field and peak conditions of transient temperature field was calculated in this article for 9 different structure,from the combination of 16,18,and 20 water channels,with the center distance between adjacent channel of 1 time,1.5 times,and 2 times the water channel width.The trend of motor temperature rise under different structure parameter was compared and analyzed.The general law of influence of each parameter on the water cooling effect and water resistance in water channel was identified.According to simulation results,it was identified that when the number of water channels is 18 and the width if the center distance between adjacent channel is 1.5 times the width of the water channel width,the structure of water channels in the motor housing can meet the requirement of cooling and water resistance in the experiment example.Also tests with prototype motors was designed to verify the simulation results.The test of cooling effect and water resistance of axial z-shaped cooling channels in comparison to that of circumferential spiral channel was carried out,to provide reference for selection and design of motor cooling system water channel structure.
