| With actions of motorization and urbanization being strengthened in our country,the contradiction between supply and demand of urban-rural traffic is becoming more and more sharp which severely restricts the sustainable development.Under the continuous expansion of urban scale,many new residential communities,industrial parks and science technology parks have sprung up in remote areas such as urban suburbs and urban-rural fringe areas.These areas with low population density,low travel demand,passenger’s travel time and locations are scattered,which present the characteristics of lower passenger demand and unbalanced spatial and temporal distribution in general.However,the traditional Fixed Route Transit(FRT)service has the characteristics of fixed scheduling time and route.It is difficult to cover the low density population zone,which lead to the decrease of passenger’s travel satisfaction,and the public transport enterprise are facing the double dilemma of social benefit and economic benefit.Mobility Allowance Shuttle Transit(MAST)system is a new type of public transport mode with the characteristics of mixed traffic between conventional public transit and Demand Responsive Transit(DRT)can effectively meet the personalized travel needs of passengers in low density population zone or off-peak hours,which become an important means to solve the poor quality of traditional public transport service and economic benefits.Therefore,the thought is proposed to develop the MAST service mode in urban-rural fringe areas by this paper.The system structure,service process and scheduling model are designed and optimized.Furthermore,the existing public transport service system is improved by this service mode.Firstly,this paper summarize the travel characteristics of urban and rural passenger flow,analyze the existing problems and its reasons of the urban-rural public transport on the basis of current research results from domestic and foreign scholars.On the grounds of MAST system concept,the transport organizational characteristics and the difference with conventional public transit are analyzed.Besides,interest demand of participant under the MAST system and fundamental service process are studied,the market position of this mode is designed.Secondly,a scheduling system of intelligent public transport based on MAST is supported by Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS)and scientific traffic management methods.Then the system structure and principle are introduced particularly,the characteristics of each function module involved in this system are analyzed emphatically.Subsequently,the intelligent public transport reservation traveling client based on Android operation platform is designed,which considering the interaction between passengers and public transport enterprise.The MAST scheduling strategy focus on historical and real-time reservation requests is proposed according to the customization and treatment.And putforward processing methods and algorithm steps for two reservation requests,which provide technical support for the practice of system.Finally,the scheduling model of intelligent public transport system based on MAST is established,which consists of the plan scheduling model and on-line scheduling updating model from two aspects of passenger travel time and public transport enterprise profit according to the urban-rural fringe areas with the characteristics of lower passenger demand and unbalanced spatial and temporal distribution.Moreover,genetic algorithm is adopted in the optimization course for solution which considers it in stages.The effectiveness and practicability of public transport scheduling are verified through the analysis of urban-rural fringe areas in Tianjin.This paper can effectively solve the problems of residents’ trip in the low demand areas,and provide reference for the planning and scheduling of the MAST system. |
