China's high-speed railway has developed rapidly since the National People's Congress formally proposed to carry out high-speed railway construction in the whole country in the Tenth Five-Year Draft Plan.By the end of 2018,China's high-speed railway operating mileage has exceeded 29,000 kilometers and reached international advanced level.However,there is still a gap between the operation level of China's high-speed railway and the world's advanced level,which is directly reflected in the train headway.China's high-speed railway uses 5-minute train headway to lay train diagram.In actual operation,train headway can achieve 4-minute.The train headway of foreign high-speed railways such as the Shinkansen and the southeastern line of France have realized 3-minute.It shows that train headway of high-speed railway in China needs to be further compressed.Moreover,transportation capacity of some main high-speed railway lines represented by Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway tends to be intensive,increasingly incapable of meeting the growing travel demand of passengers.The train headway is an important parameter of the line passing capacity.By compressing train headway,the line passing capacity can be significantly improved.This paper firstly calculates six types of train headway under different parameter values,and analyzes the influencing factors of high-speed railway train headway.Then it points out that the bottleneck of high-speed railway train headway is train arrival headway and train departure headway.For these two types of train headway,the compression strategies are proposed according to the influencing factors of train headway.Furthermore,multi-agent simulation method is combined with EMU train traction calculation theory to construct the simulation model of train tracking operation process.Finally,the simulation model is applied to verify the effectiveness of the proposed train headway compression strategies,and to analyze the degree of compression that various compression strategies can provide for the train headway.The simulation results show that speed control optimization,Centralized Traffic Control System(CTC)optimization and technical transformation can effectively compress train arrival headway.CTC system optimization and technical transformation can effectively compress train departure headway.For some special stations,under the existing CTC system conditions,track application plan optimization cannot effectively compress train arrival headway and train departure headway.In this paper,the simulation method is used to study train headway compression strategies.Compared to field experiment,simulation method can save a lot of experimental resources and avoid risk.The proposed compression strategies can effectively compress train headway,which is conducive to improving China's high-speed railway transportation capacity and further improving the comprehensive competitiveness of China's high-speed railway.
