The Research On The Image Of City In Rapidly Developing Metropolitan Areas

Looking back on the 40 th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up,the population and economy of cities in China have already undergone tremendous changes.A group of new cities and urban areas with rapid developing,represented by Shenzhen,have entered the middle and late stages of urbanization after 40 years of development,and began to change from pursuing scale expansion to upgrading connotation.Citizens’ demand for residential cities has shifted from simply satisfying the functional needs of residence,work,appearance and recreation to spiritual and emotional needs.In this kind of rapid developing cities,the study of the rules of image and emotional memory of the migrant cities and the implementation of the planning image can help the builders to build the city so that people can have a sense of belonging and identity,and expand the evaluation methods of urban planning.Based on the theoretical research foundation of city image in rapid developing area,this paper takes the current city image and planning city image in Nanshan District of Shenzhen as the research object,and uses literature analysis,interview and cognitive map,questionnaire survey and statistical and cross-analysis methods to investigate and analyze its structural city image,unique city image and evaluative city image.This paper analyses the differences and connections of image elements in impression,quality and preference,and sums up the city image of Nanshan District in Shenzhen,a typical area of rapid developing.Then,check the implementation of city planning image,compare city planning image and current city image from three aspects of structure,uniqueness and evaluation,evaluate the implementation of city planning image and analyze the causes.At the same time,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the city image of Nanshan District,Shenzhen,in order to help local governments and relevant functional departments to build a sense of belonging and identity of urban space.Finally,this paper summarizes the characteristics of city image in the rapid developing area represented by Nanshan District of Shenzhen:(1)the new and strange image is far more than the historical and humanistic image,and the renewal iteration rate is fast;(2)the main development mode of the city leads to the point elements become the main component of the structural urban image;(3)the urban image is vulnerable to the impact of the transformation of economic and industrial structure.These can provide a reference for the image construction of other similar cities or new districts.
