The oil pump is a device in the lubrication system that forces the oil from the oil pan to the engine moving parts.The power of the oil pump is directly derived from the engine.If the power consumed by the oil pump is reduced,the efficiency of the engine will be improved.As working conditions of the engine become more and more complex,and the multi-stage variable displacement oil pump can accurately control the output flow according to the working conditions,it becomes an inevitable choice for the development of high-efficiency and energy-saving engines.Under this circumstance,it is imperative to develop new energy-saving variable displacement oil pumps and improve the performance of variable displacement oil pumps.The new multi-stage variable displacement oil pump developed in cooperation with a company is taken as the research object in this paper.Firstly,the development history of the oil pump and the working principle of the variable displacement oil pump are introduced.Combined with the structure of the new variable displacement oil pump,its working principle and characteristics are introduced.Secondly,the theoretical calculation of the variable oil pump is carried out,and the working parameters are obtained.Then the system simulation model of the pump is built by AMESim,and the actual parameters are assigned to the AMESim model.In addition,an experimental platform is built to test the performance of the prototype.The theoretical curves obtained by the simulation are compared with the experimental data.Through comparison,the problems of the pump are analyzed,and the volume efficiency module is added in the model to make the model more accurate.Finally,the optimization research is carried out to lay a foundation for further optimization of pump performance.It is verified by ADAMS that there is redundant force on the variable device.Then the theoretical derivation is carried out to obtain the influence of the redundant force on the variable device,and this problem is theoretically improved.It is verified by Fluent that cavitation will occur when the pump runs at high speed.Then,according to the mechanism of cavitation and the structure of the pump,improvements are proposed.And the effectiveness of each improvement is verified in Fluent.
