The continuous development of computer technology has brought enormous challenges to the traditional shipbuilding industry,and it has also brought unlimited development opportunities.With the continuous application of computer technology in the shipbuilding industry,a lot of shipyards,research institutes and universities have to use computer technology to speed up the design and construction of ships,and make the ship’s design calculation and construction process more precise.The traditional three-dimensional modeling method of ships requires manual introduction of offsets,and manual adjustment of the smoothness of curved surfaces is often time-consuming.This paper is mainly based on the secondary development of AutoCAD and lines plan of the ship in AutoCAD.The extracted offsets are imported into the 3D design software CATIA to complete the automatic generation of the hull model automatically.The two-dimensional calculation method of ship stability used numerical integration,which makes the calculation error larger.In this paper,VB is used to develop software based on CATIA to complete three-dimensional calculation of stability.The software system is mainly divided into six modules including AutoCAD parameter extraction module,CATIA parametric modeling module,hydrostatics calculation module,intact stability module,fast subdivision module,and damage stability module.AutoCAD parameter extraction module is mainly used for the extraction of 3D point coordinates of hull.The CATIA parametric modeling module is mainly used for the automatic generation of 3D wireframe models,surface models and solid models of hulls.The hydrostatics calculation module is mainly used for calculating the hydrostatic performance of a certain draught or calculating the hydrostatics performance of a set of draughts and drawing a hydrostatic curve.The intact stability module is mainly used for calculating the ship’s large angle stability and the calculation of stability check.The rapid subdivision module is mainly used for the automatic generation of the compartment surface model,the compartment solid model and the calculation of the tank capacity curve.The damage stability module is mainly used for calculating the damage stability of a ship after damage.Based on the lines plan of the ship in AutoCAD,this paper completes the parameter extraction and the parametric modeling of hull wireframes,surfaces and solid models based on CATIA,saving a lot of manual modeling time.Through VB programming,the ship’s hydrostatic curve,intact stability and damage stability are automatically calculated.A simple and friendly program operation interface is designed,and the hull 3D modeling,hydrostatics calculation and intact stability calculation and the calculation of damage stability are integrated,a complete set of three-dimensional parametric modeling and stability calculation software system for hull is formed,which can effectively improve the design efficiency and calculation accuracy of the ship,and has a large engineering application value in the overall design process of the ship.
