Harbour oscillation is a common problem for a port where long wave prevails.It should be given enough attention during the phase of harbour layout design.The natural frequency of mooring ship in harbour is closer to the long wave frequency and more sensitive to it,hence research on harbour response under long wave action is meaningful.The previous research on regular shape harbour have some useful results.While the response of complex layout harbour deserves further reseach,the source and distribution characteristic of long period waves in harbour need to be deeper comprehended.The goal of this thesis is to use the physical and numerical model to identify the eigen frequencies of complex shape harbour,then to analyze the characteristic of the short wave mutual interaction to excite long waves,finally,Use numerical model to analyze the response of regular shape harbour with different layout,to give a reference to the port layout design.The thesis first take a brief review of previous research on harbour oscillation,Then following topics are studied:1.Use numerical model to analyze harbour under act on the different wave direction,then evaluate the impact of wave direction during harbour oscillation simulation.Moreover,use different layout of rectangular harbour layout,then summarize the habour response.2.Set a series of regular wave with different frequency to act on the hambantota port to identify the eigen frequencies of the harbour.and analyze the time series of the port under resonance and non-resonance condition and get the response characteristics of port.The result shows the port respond strongly on some low frequency waves.Then extract the wave height at typical location in port,and get the mode structure of harbour in oscillation condition.3.Set bichromatic wave to act on hambantota port.To have a deeper research of specified short wave mutal interaction and wave energy transmission.Then analyze impact of mean wave length and wave height of bichromatic wave,finally,summarize the origin of long wave.4.Set irregular wave to act on hambantota port,analyze the harbour response under irregular waves,and set wave condition of different significant wave period and wave height to analyze the response of harbour,then summarize the transfer characteristic of long period wave.
