As a key part of the cooling system of the loader,the air intercooler(hereinafter referred to as the intercooler)of the turbocharger system has an important influence on the working energy and emission effect of the engine.As environmental protection has become an issue of concern to the public,the requirements for energy saving and emission reduction of loaders have become increasingly strict,the structure optimization and performance analysis of intercoolers have become a research focus.In the market,the loader intercooler generally uses shell and tube type intercooler.This type of heat exchanger has the advantages of simple processing,easy cleaning and high heat exchange efficiency.In this paper,the structure of intercooler is optimized through simulation study to improve the performance.Firstly,the research status of shell radiator at home and abroad is described.On this basis,the fluid calculation equation and related physical parameters as well as the evaluation criteria of the intercooler are given.The diameter ratio and pitch ratio of the shell-type cooling unit are given.The heat dissipation elements with different diameters and pitch ratios were meshed and the boundary conditions and initial conditions were set.Then,three kinds of shell and tube heat dissipation units with different diameters and pitch ratios are simulated numerically.The influence of different pitch ratio and pitch ratio on the resistance and heat transfer performance of the heat sink is analyzed.The simulation results show that when pitch ratio is 45° and diameter ratio is 1mm,the bellows shell heat dissipation unit has excellent heat transfer performance.Finally,according to the optimized bellows structure,the overall three-dimensional model of the tube and shell intercooler is established to simulate the overall performance of the intercooler.Simulation data were compared,and the heat transfer efficiency of the three types of shell and tube intercoolers was compared under different pressurized air flow rate and coolant flow rate.It is found that the heat transfer efficiency of bellows shell type intercooler is the highest.Moreover,the unit mass heat transfer of the shell type intercooler is also the highest.Bellows are easier to manufacture and process than trapezoidal tubes,so the bellows shell intercooler has the best structure and performance in terms of comprehensive performance and manufacturing process.The results of this paper can provide the basis for optimizing the structure of shell and tube heat exchanger.
