Among the large-scale energy storage technologies,the lithium-ion battery energy storage technology,which has the highest cost performance ratio,develops most rapidly due to its advantages of small volume,high efficiency and small pollution.The characteristics of lithium-ion battery are complex.If the state parameters cannot be monitored in real time during the operation,it will lead to overcharge,overdischarge and other problems of lithium-ion battery unit,and then lead to safety accidents such as over temperature,thermal runaway and so on.It is of great significance to study a battery management system for grid energy storage which can monitor and control the state parameters of lithium ion battery in real time.In this paper,the research work on the problems existing in the current battery management system for energy storage is as follows:(1)The concept,theory and technology of battery and battery management system are introduced,and then the demand analysis and overall design of battery management system are carried out.Firstly,the working principle and technical parameters of lithium-ion battery for energy storage are introduced.Based on the common impedance detection methods,the impedance detection methods used in this paper are given;Then,the estimation methods and principles of SOC and SOH of Li-ion battery are introduced,and the basic principle of Kalman filter algorithm is emphasized;Finally,based on the requirement analysis of the battery management system,the technical indicators of the battery management system are given,and the overall design scheme of the system is given based on the technical indicators.(2)The hardware of battery management system is designed.Ipc-610 l industrial computer of Advantech company is selected as the host of management system for hardware system;Taking DSP of TMS320F2812 PGFA as the core control chip of the measurement and control module,the hardware selection and circuit block diagram design of the information acquisition unit,temperature control unit and fault isolation unit are completed respectively,and CAN bus is used as the communication medium between all parts of the system to realize the reliable transmission of data.(3)The software of battery management system is designed.The system main control module software is composed of database,battery status assessment,fault diagnosis and treatment,consistency management and human-machine interaction interface.The measurement and control module includes information acquisition unit,temperature control unit and fault isolation unit.The communication between the main control module and the measurement and control module is realized by the communication software.(4)The main functions of the designed battery management system for grid energy storage are tested.According to the requirements of the technical index and the overall design scheme,the functions of the main control module software,such as function interface,battery state evaluation,fault diagnosis,and information acquisition of the measurement and control module hardware are tested.The test results show that the functions meet the design requirements.
