Interactive Correlation Analysis And Coordinated Development Evaluation Research Of Liaoning Port-city Systems

The interactive and coordinated development relationship between ports and cities plays a vital role in the sustainable development of the coastal economic zone.Frequent exchanges in global trade endow ports and port cities with new responsibilities and obligations.Due to the rapid development and great openness,ports provide an enduring driving force for the growth of port cities while port cities have long been the backing and support of port development.Liaoning coastal ports serve as an the crucial strategy-supporting role in the construction of China's 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the revitalization of Northeast China,whose interaction and coordination with port cities are closely related to the situation formation of Liaoning's new round of reform and opening up.Overall,the port-city coordinated development in Liaoning is of.great significance to boost economy and enhance regional influence.This paper takes ports,and cities along the coast of Liaoning as the research objects.Firstly,based on the review of relevant concepts and theories on ports,port cities and their interaction,the interactive mechanism of port-city mutual promotion and restriction in economy,industry,space and environment from a dialectical perspective is analyzed thoroughly.Combined with above research,the port-city comprehensive evaluation indicator system is then constructed from the dimensions of port development capacity,construction capacity,urban economy,infrastructure,quality of life and ecological environment.After relevant data are collected and processed,an entropy weight method is applied to determine the importance of each indicator to the system.Secondly,a correlation analysis model and a coordinated development evaluation model are established,to conduct the empirical analysis from the perspectives of correlation and coordination so as to further explore the port-city interaction in Liaoning.Based on the grey correlation model,the comprehensive correlation model and the advantage analysis model,a research framework for the port-city relationship analysis is built to investigate the port-city correlation as a whole.The advantage characteristics and factors of the internal elements in the systems using comprehensive correlation degrees are also discussed in the deep analysis.Then,a coordinated development evaluation model is established on the premise of system correlation to explore the coupling degrees,coupling evolution trends,coordination degrees and coordinated sustainable development level successively based on the measurement of the port-city comprehensive development level.Finally,optimization suggestions for maintaining and revising the coordinated and sustainable development of the Liaoning coastal port-city system from different perspectives are proposed.Through the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the port-city interaction,a dynamic and dialectical relationship of mutual promotion and restriction between ports and port cities can be found.The development of Liaoning port-city comprehensive systems is in the stage of strong correlation,high coupling and coordinated development,and the port-city interaction degrees are in a volatile growth state in time sequence.From the perspective of time and space differentiation,Liaoning port-city relationships differ dramatically.Among them,Dalian and Yingkou have rather good port-city interaction.Panjin and Huludao transform the port-city relationship from running-in stage to benign stage while in Jinzhou,their relationship is at a medium level.However,the situation is not so optimistic in terms of sustainable development.Much emphasis should be attached to a timely adjustment of the development trends of ports and cities respectively as well as their benign interaction.The research in this paper is complementary to previous studies on the relationship between port-city clusters and the relationship between small and medium-sized ports and cities.And the research framework of the port-city interactive relationship constructed in this paper can be generally applied to other ports 'and cities.Besides,exploring port-city interactive development trends as well as the influencing degree of the main factors in the port-city systems has important reference significance for optimizing their coordinated and sustainable development.
