Research On Coupling Coordination Degree And Linkage Effects Of Dalian Port And Economic Development

Today’s world is undergoing great changes that have not happened in a century,and economic globalization is the general trend.Economic globalization promotes the economic activities and trade flows among countries all over the world,which is accompanied by a series of opportunities and challenges.With the global warming and the accelerated melting of Arctic sea ice,the Ice Silk Road,a new maritime transportation channel,has been highly concerned by various countries.From the perspective of China,the Ice Silk Road can be regarded as a northward extension of the Belt and Road.It’s opening and operation will greatly shorten the maritime transportation distance from China to Western Europe and promote the interconnection between regions.As an international shipping center in Northeast Asia,Dalian has a superior geographical location and perfect port system.It is an international shipping hub with developed shipping market,abundant logistics and numerous flights.It is an international trade,financial and economic center.Based on the actual situation of Dalian’s ports and economic development,this paper studies and explores the coordinated development relationship between Dalian’s ports and Dalian urban economy,which can effectively help Dalian’s ports and Dalian urban economy to promote each other better under the opportunity of Ice Silk Road.This paper first expounds the background and significance of the research,and summarizes the research status and theory of the Ice Silk Road,ports and urban economic development.On this basis,puts forward the research framework of this paper.Secondly,it sorts out the actual data of Dalian’s ports and Dalian urban economic development,and makes qualitative research and analysis on the coordinated development of Dalian’s ports and Dalian urban economy.Based on the collected data,the coupling coordination degree evaluation model is constructed to calculate the coupling coordination degree between Dalian’s Ports Development and Dalian urban economic development,then the DEA model is used to evaluate the coordinated operation efficiency of the two.,the results show that the comprehensive index of Dalian Port Development and Dalian economic development is on the rise from 2000 to 2019.The coupling coordination degree of the two is changing from moderate imbalance to primary coordination.The promotion effect of port development on urban economic development is stronger than that of urban economic development on port development.Then,the paper uses the grey correlation analysis method to select four indexes of GDP,port berth,cargo throughput and container throughput to construct VAR model,and analyzes the linkage between Dalian port development index and Dalian city economic development index.The results show that there is a long-term stable relationship between the four variables,the short-term impact of port development on urban economy is more obvious,and the long-term impact of urban economy on port development is more obvious.Finally,this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for the coordinated development of Dalian port and Dalian urban economy.
