Research On Reconstruction And Expansion Planning And Architectural Design Of The Expressway Service Area In Zhejiang Province

Transportation is the basic,strategic and important leading service industry in the national economy.As an supporting infrastructure for transportation industry,the expressway service area serves as the key window of transportation industry for serving the citizens.In the past two decades,the transportation industry in Zhejiang Province has made considerable progress at meeting people's traveling demands.However,the service area built in the early stage of the traffic expansion generally has low service capacities,small construction scales,insufficient parking spaces,and old-fashioned external surfaces.Besides that,the frequent fatigue driving and illegal parking increased the probability of traffic accidents;During the major holidays,some of the service areas' lacking on sufficient reception capacity highlighted the difficulties of parking,refueling,charging,and bathroom usage during those period;Thus,there is a big gap between the current situation and the safe,convenient,and high-quality services that are required by the general public.Therefore,this thesis focused on reconstruction and expansion planning,and architectural design of the Zhejiang Expressway Service Area.The research methods applied here are formation of research topics,analysis of problems,strategical planning,real case validation,reflection and summarization.Through comparing the design and development experiences of advanced service areas in China and oversea,and contrapose the development status of China's expressway service areas;this paper concentrated on analyzing the existing problems of the service areas in Zhejiang Province,by comprehensively summarized the service areas' planning,design,construction method and improvement strategy,then combined with the transformation requirements of green ecological service area and smart service area,we took the reconstruction and expansion design of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway Shaoxing service area as a penetrating point,analyzed the it's positioning needs,optimized the site layout,enriched the commercial activities,upgraded the architecture style and facade,which contributed to our four major goals of this research 1)to improve economic efficiency,2)realizing social benefits and cultural characteristics,3)creating green,ecological,smart and efficient service places,4)exploring the possibility of creating service areas with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.The expressway service area after reconstruction and expansion,not only have to meet the basic requirements of parking,catering,fueling,auto repair;but also to add the diversity,rationality and novelty to the service;to transform the service area to a composite service system with tourism,consumption,transportation and ecology;to show the modern city civilization image to the society and the public;to serve as an important part of "building a strong transportation country".This research would like to increase the our knowledge on the planning and design of the reconstruction and expansion of the expressway service area in Zhejiang Province.
