The pulsed power technology has broad application prospects in many fields such as national defense,military,and civil industrial.With the high energy storage density,low loss,and low charging power requirements,superconducting energy storage has great significance in miniaturization,modularization,and re-frequency of pulsed power supply devices.And it has become a research focus in the field of pulsed power supply.At present,the repetitive pulsed power supply based on high temperature superconducting pulsed power transformers is one of the important development directions.In this paper,the discharging modes based on the high-temperature superconducting pulsed power supply are studied.And a modified repetitive pulsed power supply based on the high-temperature superconducting pulsed power transformer is proposed.By improving the control strategy of the superconducting pulsed power supply,the closed-loop control method is applied to realize the pulse current output.To verify the feasibility of the proposed discharging mode,a small experimental circuit platform is set up.Firstly,several typical discharging modes of superconducting inductive pulsed power supply are theoretically analyzed and simulated.The discharging mode includes the multiple superconducting energy storage magnets which based on the series charging and parallel discharging(XRAM)mode,STRECH meat grinder circuit and the pulsed power supply which based on a quenched superconducting pulsed power transformer.These modes have their own characteristics.Among them,the pulsed power supply based on the superconducting pulsed power transformer which integrates energy storage and pulse forming,has great advantages in structure and weight.In this paper,a pulsed power supply based on high temperature superconducting pulsed power transformer(HTSPPT)is introduced.It effectively limits the high voltage across the main switch and recovers the remaining energy after the discharging phase,and it is beneficial for improving the whole system energy utilization efficiency.However,this pulsed power supply cannot accurately control the timing of the discharge because of the fixed operating frequency pulsed discharging mode.It has certain limitations on application.Then,with the consideration of flexible discharging of the pulsed power supply,the control method of the pulsed power supply is improved and discharging command waiting mode is proposed.In this mode,a closed-loop control strategy is adapted to accurately control the charging timing and discharging timing of the pulsed power supply.Finally,a small high temperature superconducting pulsed power transformer is designed and tested.An experimental platform is set up to perform preliminary experimental tests on the pulsed power supply with discharging command waiting mode,which verifies the feasibility of this repetitive superconducting inductive pulsed power supply mode.In summary,the research results show that the proposed repetitive inductive pulsed power supply with discharging command waiting mode in this paper has great advantages in continuous current pulse generation and discharging flexibility.And it also provides the repetitive superconducting inductive pulsed power supply a feasible solution.
