With the melting of polar glaciers and the improvement of science and technology,humans carry out more in-depth polar exploration and polar development,and polar ships will play an important role in this process.Different from sailing in static water,ships will encounter severe working conditions when sailing in the ice area.In addition to the complicated ice resistance suffered by ships in the ice-breaking process,the influence of waves on sea ice and ships should also be considered when sailing through the polar periglacial area.In order to ensure the safety and maneuverability of ships sailing through the polar ice area,the resistance performance of ships sailing through the ice area is worth studying.In this paper,the ice resistance of ships sailing in ice area is studied by numerical simulation.Firstly,the traditional grid based computational fluid dynamics(CFD)and the particle based discrete element method(DEM)were coupled,and the ice resistance calculated by the model was compared with the ice resistance of the ship model test to verify the accuracy of the numerical model in this paper.Secondly,on the basis of the initial coupling model,wave action is added to investigate the ice resistance performance under the combined action of crushed ices and waves,and the wave parameters of wavelength and wave height are changed to analyze the change trend of ice resistance.Finally,keys and fracture criterion are innovatively added in dem particles to generate ice layer model,through the simulation of ship sailing on the layers of ice in the process of observing the ice damage mode and crack extension condition,on the basis of analyzing the characteristics of the Marine ice resistance changes,and through the change of ship speed and ice thickness to explore both the influence of the process of ice and ice resistance.It is hoped that it can provide some reference for the design of ice sailing ship and its route selection through the study of this paper.
